Good Morning Lord

I know I should be praying or looking pious and stuff but I prefer to make notes or write you a letter. On my way down here I had a great bicycle ride. The air was cold and crisp, so much so that it made my face numb. The moonless sky was dotted with stars… unfortunately all the street lights obscured the lesser ones and made them difficult to see. Still, it was awesome…especially as I passed the sleepy little houses. Every once in a while I would smell the faint scent of burning wood from a fireplace. As I pedaled I could hear the faraway sound of a single truck straining under a load as it made its way down the highway. And what about all those street lights? Wouldn’t it be a better idea to give everybody a flashlight…you know the kind with the LED lamp. That would be a “greener” solution. Besides, there is nobody out there that early and I surely don’t need streetlights…I have a flashlight.

For me the morning is the most extra special and remarkable part of the day. It is that time when I really feel Your presence. I find it hard to believe that there are some people who don’t even acknowledge Your existence. Maybe they just have not been for a bike ride in the early morning.

Well, time is up, the church bells are ringing and that means 6 AM. I’ve got to go. I promised myself that I would not be late for work.

Dear Lord Jesus, please keep me safe and allow me to be a reflection of you in everything I do. Don’t let me say anything negative today and remind me to do my job with gleeful joy.
Amen

yours truly

Me

PS Father God…you have a great day too.
