Reflecting on the Reflection

It’s Friday Adoration 4:00 AM. I am supposed to be adoring but my mind wanders to the glass panels in the circular chapel. I notice how interesting the reflections are and it harkens me back to eighth grade physics and geometry class. “The angle of reflection is always equal to the angle of incident.” If I am exactly in the middle of the chapel the angles are zero and I see my own reflection in all the panels. But I’m not in the center so each panel has a different reflection. That’s so interesting. The beauty of such a simple “law of science”! I like science. The rules are simple and irrefutable. Too bad life is not that way.

Wait a minute.

Life is that way!

There are just ten simple rules and when you reduce every thing to the lowest common denominator, life is simple. I only complicated it when I make up my own rules.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for Your ten simple rules.
Please Lord, help me remember to keep life simple and follow Your rules, not mine.

Amen.
