To tell the truth I did not feel like going to church today, Sunday, “The Lord’s Day”. I only went out of habit, or possibly obligation. I took up my normal spot toward the back and amused myself by watching the people file into church. Some just walked in and plopped themselves down like they owned the place. Some did a half way down, back up genuflection. Others did more of a curtsy style genuflection. For some it was just a bobble in their walk. There was one who made it look like a maneuver from the basketball court…he faked a genuflection then went for the 2 points right into the pew. Some made a respectful bow of the head. Now I understand the old folks…sometimes they are just not physically able to get down on one knee and if they did…probably could not get back up.
Lord God, please let me always show you the proper respect and reverence.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for allowing me to be physically able to genuflect.
Please help me to not be so judgmental. I do realize it is your job, not mine, to sort the saints from the sinners.
